PRODUCT INFORMATION ON:
NO. 129 CLASS “B” FIRE RETARDANT VARNISH BASE COAT
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
No. 129 Fire Retardant Varnish is a Class “B” fire retardant base coat, that is used in conjunction with No. 130 Fire Retardant Varnish Overcoat. It is designed for use on all new, and previously coated wood surfaces (except floors). No. 129 and No. 130 contain no water soluble ingredients. The coatings will not leach or turn white on aging or washing. The varnish system is suitable for use on both INTERIOR and EXTERIOR surfaces. On exterior exposure, the life expectancy is similar to that of conventional alkyd varnishes. No. 129 is manufactured with Rule 66 Mineral Spirits and possesses durability, cleansibility, and to comply with the Underwriters’ Laboratories fire hazard classifications (ratings) established, No. 129 must be overcoated with No. 130 Fire Retardant Varnish Overcoat.
SURFACE PREPARATION:
All surfaces must be dry, clean, free of all wax, grease, dirt, sanding dust, etc. Glossy surfaces must be dulled with sandpaper or steel wool. For best appearance, new previously uncoated wood should be sealed with No. 6 Clear Wood Sealer. All sanding, filling of nail holes, etc. must be completed prior to the application of No. 129.

The coverage rate obtained will vary with the porosity of the wood. Dries to touch in approximately four hours, but allow at least 24 hours drying time before overcoating with No. 130.
THINNERS:
