PRODUCT INFORMATION ON:
No. 141 POLYURETHANE CLASS “B”
FIRE-RETARDANT, SEMI OR HIGH GLOSS, GYM FLOOR VARNISH.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
No. 141 is a clear, transparent finish,
Designed for interior use on gym floors and other wood floor surfaces, where maximum resistance to abrasion, scrubbing and washing is required. No. 141 is also suitable for us on other interior surfaces, such as wood paneling, doors, trim, dadoes, wainscoting, stairs and concrete floors.
SURFACE PREPARATION:
Surfaces must be dry, clean, free of all wax, grease, dirt, sanding dust, etc. Glossy surfaces must be dulled with sandpaper or steel wool. For best appearance, new, previously uncoated surfaces should be sealed with a thinned down of No. 141 (one pint of mineral spirits per gallon of No. 141) or other suitable wood sealer (do not use lacquer-type sealer). All sanding, filling of nail holes, etc. should be completed prior to the application of No. 141.
APPLICATION:
No. 141 can be applied by brush, roller or spray. If sealer has been applied, allow surface to fully dry before applying No. 141. Stir material well before using, then apply a uniform coat at a coverage rate of approximately 400 sq. ft./ U.S. gallon (9.8m2/L). The coverage rate will vary, depending on the porosity of the surface. Allow to dry 24 hours or until hard. Lightly sand, clean dust from the surface, then apply a second coat at the same coverage rate.
Note – Two coats are required to comply with the Class “B” fire retardant rating established.
DRYINGTIME:
Dries to touch in approximately four hours. Allow at least 24 hours time between coats.
THINNERS:
For cleaning equipment, use mineral spirits or xylene. Should thinning be necessary, only use No. 141 Reducer or mineral spirits.
FIRE TESTS SECTION:
Flame Spread Rating: Class “B”. When tested in accordance with ASTM E-84 [ANSI/UL 723, NFPA 255 and UBC 8-1], the coating obtained the following fire hazard classification. A complete report from U.S. Government-approved laboratory is available upon request.
